I honestly loved this book. Her honesty, faith and strength really shone through. I can't imagine living what she had to experience with the critics and everyone telling her she had to have sex appeal to draw in fans. I get it, the purpose is to get sales but what about the human being that has to face all the ups and downs? As she watched her Nanny pass peacefully, one of the things she said was "no matter how insignificant we may feel, God is looking out for us." This is deep and reassuring at least for me. Sometimes we have those days where we don't understand our purpose...that we lose who we are due to pain, disappointment or failure. But it is in that time that we must hold strong to our faith and believe that God will carry us through. There are always two sides to every story and everything that Jessica Simpson expressed in her book, I truly felt. I felt her pain, her body issues, her strength to leave a man who wasn't there and one who couldn't figure out whether he wanted her or not. The best part for me was seeing her wash her hands of Nick Lachey and John Mayer (the nerve of that man!). Everything that she went through with both these men made me reflect on my current and past relationships. It's never easy to walk away from someone you love but if they aren't giving you what you deserve and you've done everything to fight for your relationship, walk away and don't look back. The best part for me was to see her grow her business, one that no one expected Jessica Simpson to achieve. The partnership between her mom and herself worked and it lead to a billion dollar business. I happen to be a big fan of her clothing, purses and shoes. When I was younger I couldn't get enough of her heels and purses. For awhile I wasn't buying any items not because I didn't want to but because I wasn't aware anymore. However, her child's clothing I would get for the girls. My mom is obsessed! I recently went to visit her Instagram page and let me tell you something!!!! Her new style is FABULOUS and better than ever. Overall, this is a good read. If you haven't yet, pick up a copy and let's chat!
